14 DAY – CAPE TOWN, GARDEN ROUTE, KRUGER & VICTORIA FALLS Day 1: CAPE TOWN Welcome to South Africa. A country teaming with Africa's wildlife, a land with friendly and diverse cultures. A contrast between traditional homesteads and vibrant modern cities. On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you are met and transferred to your hotel. Time to relax after your long flight. Accommodation: Hotel / Guesthouse Day 2: CAPE TOWN (B) After lunch we explore all the "must-sees" of Cape Town. A geographical & cultural experience, showing you Cape Town, from its historical beginnings to the dazzling modern shopping malls of the Waterfront. Today's highlights:

You will visit selected wine estates on the 3 main wine routes. We have set our criteria for selection of wine estates, high standards of winemaking, historical and architectural significance, picturesque environment and visitor friendliness. Calitzdorp (Route 62) to Oudtshoorn. Accommodation: Hotel / Guesthouse Day 6: GARDEN ROUTE (OUDTSHOORN - KNYSNA) (B / D) Oudtshoorn has 97 percent of the world's Ostrich population. On our visit to a working Ostrich Farm we learn about these fascinating birds. We travel over the Outeniqua mountains to George and Knysna.

Please note: For silver standard you are transferred to a lodge within Greater Kruger National Park or Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. Early morning and late afternoon game drives are conducted within the lodge concession. The following Kruger Safari description is for bronze standard only. Our journey takes us through some of the spectacular scenery of the Mpumalanga province. We enter Kruger National Park in search of the famous ‘Big Five’. Arriving at camp in the late afternoon. Time to relax, and enjoy the full buffet restaurant dinner, with views over the Sabie river. Accommodation: En-suite air-conditioned Bungalow Day 9: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (B / D) - Central Kruger After an early wake-up call, our day starts with tea, coffee and a light snack. We then set out to explore some of the 22 different ecological zones found within the Park. Our sightings might include leopard, lion, and some of the rarer antelope species that are found within the Southern region of the Park. Later in the morning we enjoy restaurant breakfast while watching hippos lazing on the river bank. We depart on a game drive to central Kruger. The dense bush gives way to scrub savannah where plains game such as zebra and blue wildebeest are found grazing. This area also is rich in predators such as lion, and hyena. Dinner is served in the restaurant where there is time to reflect on the day’s sightings. After dinner you are welcome to sit and relax by the campfire while listening to the sounds of the African bush. Note: Clients who are interested can experience an astronomy session (weather permitting) and view planets, global and open star clusters through a 8' Dobsonian Telescope on select departures. Accommodation: En-suite air-conditioned Bungalow Day 10: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (B / D) - Central Kruger After an early wake-up call, our day starts with tea, coffee and a light snack. You now have the option to partake in a guided bush walk to see up-close tracks and signs of the African bush (optional extra). Later in the morning we enjoy a restaurant breakfast. You have the option to enjoy the camp, relax by the pool, or you may choose to partake in a full day game drive to the valley of the Olifants, through scrub savannah in search of cheetah and other game with lunch (extra) en-route. . We enjoy lunch with views of the Olifant’s river, where we then make our way to the “River of sand”. Here you have the opportunity to visit the Elephant museum where you can view the famous big seven tuskers of Kruger National park. We return to camp enjoy a tea/coffee before our sunset game drive. Now is our chance to spot nocturnal animals that are rarely seen during the day. These may include genet, leopard, African wild cat, and giant eagle owl. Returning to camp late in the evening for restaurant dinner and campfire under the stars. Accommodation: En-suite air-conditioned Bungalow Day 11: THE PANORAMA ROUTE - JOHANNESBURG (B) After an early wake-up call, our day starts with tea, coffee and a light snack we depart Kruger, enjoying a game drive en-route. We then ascend the Drakensburg mountains with stunning views. We stop to enjoy full buffet breakfast with a stunning view of the Blyde River Canyon, the third largest canyon in the world, and the largest green canyon. We explore the Three Rondavels, Bourkes Luck Potholes, God's Window and some of the spectacular waterfalls found in the region. Optional activities: Transfer to Johannesburg for a overnight. Accommodation: Hotel Day 12: JOHANNESBURG - VICTORIA FALLS (ZAMBIA / ZIMBABWE) (B) After breakfast you transfer to Johannesburg International Airport from where you fly to Livingstone / Victoria Falls. This afternoon you partake in a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River. Sunset cruises arrive back after sunset. From the boats, sightings or elephant, giraffe and even rhino coming down to the river to drink are common. There are also abundant hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife. Accommodation: Hotel Day 13: VICTORIA FALLS (ZAMBIA) (B) This morning you partake in a tour of the Falls. The tour will be of both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides of the falls. A natural phenomenon and one of the seven natural Wonders of the World, the Victoria Falls is an immense curtain of water cascading over 100m. Around 550 million litres over the lip every minute, at peak flow this increases to 750 million litres. Around the Falls is rainforest sustained by the spray of the Falls with some plant species rarely found elsewhere in Zambia or Zimbabwe. During peak flow (January to June) the Zambian side of the Falls is the most spectacular and there are walkways to look out points and across the swaying Knife Edge bridge.
