Day 1: CAPE TOWN

Welcome to South Africa. A country teaming with Africa's wildlife, a land with friendly and diverse cultures. A contrast between traditional homesteads and vibrant modern cities. On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you are met and transferred to your hotel. Time to relax after your long flight.

Day 2: CAPE TOWN (B)

After lunch we explore all the "must-sees" of Cape Town. A geographical & cultural experience, showing you Cape Town, from its historical beginnings to the dazzling modern shopping malls of the Waterfront.

Day 3: CAPE PENINSULA (B)

Today we continue to explore the area. An unforgettable journey to the mythical meeting place of the two great oceans. Breathtaking scenic beauty contrasts with the harsh rugged conditions of the most south-westerly edge of the African continent.

Day 4: WINELANDS   (B) 

After breakfast, you will be picked up with your luggage for your day tour. 

Travel through the spectacular mountain scenery and lush fertile valleys of the Cape. Taste a mixture of fascinating history and allow yourself to indulge in the pleasures of the renowned Cape Winelands.

You will visit selected wine estates on the 3 main wine routes. We have set our criteria for selection of wine estates, high standards of winemaking, historical and architectural significance, picturesque environment and visitor friendliness.

Day 5: CAPE TOWN - GARDEN ROUTE (OUDTSHOORN)  (B / D)

Our journey starts from Cape Town and we travel via Worcester, Montagu and Calitzdorp (Route 62) to Oudtshoorn.
At Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo , we visit the Cango Caves, a great natural wonder and the longest underground cave sequence in the world.

Day 6: GARDEN ROUTE (OUDTSHOORN - KNYSNA)  (B / D)

Oudtshoorn has 97 percent of the world's Ostrich population. On our visit to a working Ostrich Farm we learn about these fascinating birds. We travel over the Outeniqua mountains to George and Knysna.

Enjoy a leisurely Buffet dinner during the Sunset cruise on the Paddle Cruiser on Knysna Lagoon.

Day 7: GARDEN ROUTE (KNYSNA)  (B / D)

We explore the stunning coastline of the Garden Route, known for its dense evergreen rainforests and white sand beaches, with ancient waterways making their way down to the Indian Ocean. Experience a 3 hour game drive in an open 4 x 4 vehicle at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve - return to Knysna after lunch explore Knysna, etc.

We travel back to Cape Town via Mossel Bay & Swellendam arriving in the late afternoon

Day 8: CAPE TOWN – KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (D) – Southern Kruger

After breakfast you are transferred to Cape Town International Airport for your flight to Johannesburg or Mpumalanga. Our journey takes us through some of the spectacular scenery of the Mpumalanga province. After lunch, we enter Kruger National Park in search of the famous ‘Big Five’. Our sightings might include elephant, giraffe, zebra, hippopotamus, rhinoceros, lion, leopard, hyena, wildebeest, impala and African buffalo to name a few. We arrive at camp in the late afternoon. Time to relax, and enjoy the full buffet restaurant dinner, with views over the Sabie river.

Day 9: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (B / D) - Central Kruger

After an early wake-up call, our day starts with tea, coffee and a light breakfast. We then set out to explore some of the 20 different bio-zones found within the Park. We will search for leopard, lion and some of the rarer antelope species that are found within the Southern region of the Park. Later in the morning we enjoy a delicious breakfast. We depart on a game drive to central Kruger with lunch (extra) en-route. The dense bush gives way to scrub savannah where plains game such as zebra and blue wildebeest are found grazing. This area also is rich in predators such as lion, and hyena. We arrive in camp in time to enjoy a tea/coffee and snack before our afternoon game drive. Buffet dinner is served in the restaurant where there is time to reflect on the day’s sightings.

Day 10: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (B / D) - Central Kruger

After an early wake-up call, our day starts with tea, coffee and a light breakfast. You now have the option to partake in a guided bush walk to see up-close tracks and signs of the African bush (optional,extra), or you may partake in a morning game drive. Later in the morning we enjoy a delicious breakfast. You have the option to return to camp to relax by the pool, or you may choose to partake in a full day game drive through scrub savannah in search of cheetah and other game. We return to camp in the late afternoon for tea / coffee and a light snack. Then we set out on our sunset game drive. Now is our chance to spot nocturnal animals that are rarely seen during the day. These include spring hare, leopard, African wild cat, and giant eagle owl. We return to camp late in the evening for a full buffet dinner.

Day 11: THE PANORAMA ROUTE - JOHANNESBURG (B)

After an early wake-up call, our day starts with tea, coffee and a light breakfast. We depart Kruger and have a game drive en-route. We then ascend the Drakensburg mountains with stunning views. We stop to enjoy a full buffet breakfast with a view to Blyde River Canyon, the third largest canyon in the world, and the largest green canyon. We explore the Three Rondavels, Bourkes Luck Potholes, and some of the spectacular waterfalls found in the region.

Optional activities:
Shangaan Village:
After lunch you have the option to visit a Shangaan village and see the different facets of the Shangaan way of life, including their history and customs, initiation ceremonies, the practice of polygamy, the outfits and weapons of masocho (warriors), the construction of homes, ornate beadwork clothing, and the preparation of food. Guests are encouraged to touch, feel and participate in what is happening in the village. Visit the mystical kraal of the Sangoma (traditional healer). The Sangoma explains different mutis (medicines) and may throw his bones on request. He is a registered member of the Traditional Healers' Association, so the advice he gives is serious!
Elephant Interaction:
All elephants are rescued African Elephants. Elephants are exercised and stimulated daily, which provides a firm foundation for trust. These animals are highly intelligent and delightful: you will discover a different character, personality and temperament within each one. Learn a lot about elephants get to touch, feel, feed, walk trunk-in-hand and even ride these magnificent animals.

Transfer to Johannesburg for a overnight.

Day 12: JOHANNESBURG - VICTORIA FALLS (ZAMBIA / ZIMBABWE)  (B)

After breakfast you transfer to Johannesburg International Airport from where you fly to Livingstone / Victoria Falls. This afternoon you partake in a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River. Sunset cruises arrive back after sunset. From the boats, sightings or elephant, giraffe and even rhino coming down to the river to drink are common. There are also abundant hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife.

Day 13: VICTORIA FALLS (ZAMBIA)  (B)

This morning you partake in a tour of the Falls.  The tour will be of both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides of the falls.

A natural phenomenon and one of the seven natural Wonders of the World, the Victoria Falls is an immense curtain of water cascading over 100m. Around 550 million litres over the lip every minute, at peak flow this increases to 750 million litres.

Around the Falls is rainforest sustained by the spray of the Falls with some plant species rarely found elsewhere in Zambia or Zimbabwe.

During peak flow (January to June) the Zambian side of the Falls is the most spectacular and there are walkways to look out points and across the swaying Knife Edge bridge.

  • The guide will accompany you· During high water visitors can get wet at the Falls, raincoats are advisable (available for hire) and cameras should be sealed in plastic bags
