5 DAY - CHOBE NATIONAL PARK & VICTORIA FALLS Day 1/2: CHOBE NATIONAL PARK (B / D) or FB On arrival at the Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) or Livingstone (Zambia) airport you are met and transferred to your lodge. On Botswana's far northern border lies the Kwando, Linyanti and Chobe river system forming a series of lakes, islands and floodplains. This area forms the Chobe National Park, famous for its large buffalo and elephant herds. In addition to a variety of predators, there is an abundance of wild game and bird life which decorate these beautiful waterways. Exploring Chobe National Park. Morning and afternoon game activities. Accommodation: Lodge Day 3: VICTORIA FALLS (ZAMBIA / ZIMBABWE) (B) Transfer to Livingstone (Zambia) or Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe). This afternoon you have a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River. The total cruise time is approximately 3 hours. Enjoy the special atmosphere as the sun sets beneath the African sky. Sightings of elephant, giraffe and even rhino coming down to the river to drink are common. There is also an abundance of hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife. Accommodation: Hotel or Lodge Day 4: VICTORIA FALLS (ZAMBIA / ZIMBABWE) (B) This morning you will have a tour of both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides of the Falls. A natural phenomenon and one of the seven natural Wonders of the World, the Victoria Falls is an immense curtain of water cascading over 100m. Around 550 million litres over the lip every minute, at peak flow this increases to 750 million litres. Around the Falls is rainforest sustained by the spray of the Falls with some plant species rarely found elsewhere in Zambia or Zimbabwe. During peak flow (January to June) the Zambian side of the Falls is the most spectacular and there are walkways to look out points and across the swaying Knife Edge bridge.
